WEST PALM BEACH, FL (July 6, 2012) – Palm Beach County Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators presented 3 $1,000 gifts from the Tisha K McNamara Scholarship Award at the Annual Scholarship luncheon held in June. This award is available to the Palm Beach County and Treasure Coast legal industry employees and their dependents.
The Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) is a global organization of more than 9,000 members, whose professional concern is the effective management of government, corporate and private agencies and departments devoted to the delivery of legal services. Palm Beach County Chapter is but one of nine ALA chapters in the state of Florida.

The Sundari Foundation also formed the Lotus Endowment Fund, which aims to raise $10 million over five years to ensure the shelter's long-term viability and financial stability.
Sumberg has been a member of the Sundari Foundation's Advisory Board since 2008. His appointment to the Board of Directors was made official at the Foundation's May 29th Board meeting.
In addition to maintaining a successful commercial real estate practice, Sumberg is highly involved in civic and charitable organizations throughout Miami. He is a Board member of United Way of Miami-Dade and a Board member and Chair of the Audit Committee of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. He also supports Voices for Children, Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America and Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc.

McLean’s practice at GrayRobinson focuses on the areas of eminent domain and real property litigation. McLean also has experience in a variety of property related areas including land use, foreclosure, environmental law, probate and real estate law. Tampa, FL - The new Brazil Tampa Chamber will have an organization meeting at Boizao Brazilian Restaurant in Tampa on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. Officially called the Florida Gulf Coast Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, its purposes is to promote trade, investment and employment opportunities between communities in the Gulf Coast of Florida and Brazil.
The guest speaker, Frank Ryll, Global Outreach Director of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, will speak on organizational and management issues. According to Florida Gulf Coast Brazilian Chamber organizer Joel Stewart, an attorney with Fowler White Boggs P.A., the Brazil Tampa Chamber will discuss its future plans and select persons to serve on committees at the July 18thmeeting.
The cost of the dinner and meeting will be $40 which includes the full salad bar, “Rodizio” barbecue served by Gauchos, and soft drinks. Wine, cocktails and desserts are available a la carte. The address of Boizao Steakhouse is 4606 W Boy Scout Blvd., Tampa, Florida, 33607.

In his new role, Mr. Desai’s main goals are to increase awareness of the LAA; encourage graduates to support the law school’s mission; increase engagement for younger alumni, and support current students by creating networking and mentoring opportunities between alumni and students. He also plans to involve the association with the law school’s strategic initiatives to increase job placement by encouraging alumni to hire UM law graduates. Lastly, the LAA will work with the leadership of the University of Miami School of Law Momentum 2 Campaign Committee to raise much-needed funds in order to continue to build the next great American university.
Mr. Desai, 36, a University of Miami undergraduate and law school alumnus, has long been active in the UM community, serving as a legal officer for student discipline since 2003. He also serves on the University of Miami Alumni Association Board as a director. Mr. Desai is active with his fraternity, Pi Kappa Alpha, and is its Regional President. Mr. Desai serves on the board of the South Florida Council, Boy Scouts of America, where he is an Eagle Scout and recipient of the Distinguished Service Award.
Mr. Desai concentrates his practice of law in the areas of insurance defense, transactional and commercial litigation, and bad faith consultation and litigation. Mr. Desai is admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, the District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, and all Florida state courts. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Coral Gables Bar Association, the Dade County Bar Association, The Florida Bar, and the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, where he has served as chair of the Commercial Law Committee since 2008. Mr. Desai has also been named byFlorida Super Lawyers as a 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Florida Rising Star.
Before becoming an attorney in 2003, Mr. Desai served as the Interim Ombudsperson and Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Miami. During law school, Mr. Desai interned for the Honorable Paul C. Huck of the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida.
Mr. Desai graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was President of the Student Bar Association and a Thomas R. Ewald Litigation Skills Scholar. He is also a member of the Iron Arrow Honor Society; Society of Bar and Gavel; Omicron Delta Kappa; Golden Key International Honour Society and Order of Omega.

The MLA is a national organization of maritime attorneys dedicated to advancing reforms in U.S. maritime law and its administration, promoting uniformity in its enactment and interpretation, furnishing a forum for discussion, and working in concert with other associations to bring about greater harmony in the shipping laws, regulations, and practices of different nations.
Under Peltz’s leadership, the Cruise Lines and Passenger Ships Committee will review problems and developments arising from cruise and passenger ship operations and monitor governmental regulations affecting the industry. The MLA is a member of the international Comite´ Maritime International and an affiliate organization of the American Bar Association. The MLA’s views are also frequently sought by Congress, the Coast Guard and government agencies as they pertain to maritime and admiralty law.
Peltz has over three decades of experience as a trial attorney focusing on maritime law and general tort liability in a variety of different fields, including products liability and professional negligence. In addition to Board Certification in Civil Trial Practice from the Florida Bar and the National Board of Trial Advocacy, he is AV-rated and a charter member of the Miami chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Previously he served as President of the Dade County Trial Lawyers Association. For seven straight years, he has been honored as a Florida “Super Lawyer” in the Transportation and Admiralty category.

Mr. Santiago joins Greg Gaebe, Michael Mullen, Mark Antonelli, Anthony DiMatteo, Christienne Sherouse, Devang Desai and Christopher Moore as a partner in the 16-lawyer firm. He was awarded the Vasquez Scholarship for his excellence in litigation. Mr. Santiago served as a Citations Editor for the University of Miami International and Comparative Law Review. He also interned for United States Magistrate Judge Stephen T. Brown and for the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office.
